The Japan Society of Northern California extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Mayor Ed Lee. As San Francisco’s first Asian-American mayor, Mr. Lee was a powerful symbol of the important role that immigrants from all over Asia and their descendants have played in building this city and continuing to make it strong and vibrant. His many years of selfless public service is an inspiration to us all in the non-profit world to work together to build a healthy, dynamic and diverse community.
