Lunch with Professor Yorizumi Watanabe, Keio University in Tokyo

The University of California at Berkeley and the Japan Society of Northern California hosted a lunch on February 6 featuring well-known trade expert from Japan, Professor Yorizumi Watanabe. Professor Watanabe, who currently teaches at Keio University in Tokyo, has served in a number of senior Japanese Government positions. Professor Watanabe is Japan’s foremost trade expert and a prolific writer whose book on TPP in 2011 was a best seller. He is an enthusiastic free trader and his book on TPP helped turn the tide of popular opinion towards support of the highly contentious trade pact.

Professor Watanabe will talk about Japan’s global trade policy, particularly in the context of President Trump’s withdrawal from TPP. We discussed his insights interesting and relevant. Thank you, UC Berkeley to host a wonderful lunch!
