Internship
The intern provides administrative support to the Japan Society staff: President, Office Manager and Program Officer. Position requires a pleasant office demeanor, good written and spoken English language skills, good organization with an eye for detail, and a capacity to multi-task. The intern is a part of a small team, demonstrating initiative to solve challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel
- Experience with customized membership databases and data entry
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver or similar HTML programs
- Strong writing and proofreading skills
- Knowledge of Japanese culture and/or language
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends
- Experience in graphic design and/or brochure production is a plus.
Compensation:
This is an unpaid, part-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain database
- Assist staff with event calendar, fundraising and membership mailings
- Assist staff at Society events
- Additional general administrative tasks as needed
