SUMMARY:Fuzjko Hemming Solo Piano Concert
DESCRIPTION:NTB presents a Japan relief fundraiser and benefit concert: Fuzjko Hemming Piano Solo Concert USA Tour 2011. Hemming is bringing her lyrical melodies to the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre for a benefit concert on Sunday\, September 11. Twenty percent of all proceeds will go to support Japan earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.\nBorn in Berlin to a Japanese mother and a Swedish architect father\, Fuzjko Hemming originally started piano studies with her mother who was an established pianist herself. Having won various music prizes in major competitions in Japan\, Fuzjko began her professional career at 17. She continued her study at Berlin Institute of Music\, and later moved to Vienna where prominent musicians such as Bruno Maderna and Leonard Bernstein expressed their appreciation of Fuzjko’s talent. Her first CD was released in Japan in 1999\, which was sold over two million copies as of today. She also received the Classical Album of the Year Award at the Japan’s prestigious Gold Disc Awards with four of her CD albums.
