SUMMARY:Conversation Bootcamp
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed for those who passed JLPT Level N3 or equivalent. In this class\, listening comprehension and conversation practice will be the focus\, as well as reviewing grammatical items and structures for the intermediate level.  Through drill exercises\, discussion and speech\, the goal of this class is to develop your conversation skills and fluency. With minimal kanji and vocabulary practice\, this class will be lively and fun.  \nWe are now accepting students for a 12-week workshop on advanced conversations. Under the steady guidance of Matsui sensei\, 6 students will have the opportunity to flex their Japanese capabilities over Zoom for 2 hours at a time. This is a great way to get comfortable using Japanese in unscripted\, genuine conversations and take your Japanese speaking to the next level!  \nExamples of sample topics covered in the past.  \n\n「昨年一年を漢字一字で表すとなんですか」 \n\n\n「日本にしかないと思われる慣習を一つ探してください」   \n\n___  \n*This workshop is meant for those who already have a foundation in Japanese\, preferably having completed the JSNC’s Intermediate 1-3 OR passed JLPT level N3.  \n*Workshops with low enrollment may be canceled.

DESCRIPTION:One of the most beloved taiko groups\, Kodo explores the limitless possibilities of traditional Japanese drums with a practice rooted in their home of Sado Island. In Japanese\, kodo can mean “heartbeat\,” the primal source of all rhythm\, as well as “children of the drum.” This program includes signature pieces honed through decades of world tours\, including the mighty O-daiko drum solo and climactic Yatai-bayashi finale.
