SUMMARY:HIMARI Makes Her San Francisco Symphony Debut
DESCRIPTION:Arts from Japan is proud to present a can’t-miss milestone: the San Francisco Symphony debut of HIMARI\, the 15-year-old violin sensation already hailed as a “once-in-a-generation talent.” Fresh off her history-making appearance with the Berliner Philharmoniker and a landmark exclusive signing with Decca Classics\, HIMARI brings her extraordinary technique and soulful artistry to Davies Symphony Hall under the baton of celebrated conductor Jaap van Zweden. Program to be announced. Rarely does a young artist arrive with this much anticipation — this is a chance to witness a star in the making\, live\, before the rest of the world catches on. \nThis is a co-promotional event in our inaugural Arts from Japan Season\, presented by our partner\, the San Francisco Symphony. For this co-promotional performance we’ve secured a limited block of premium tickets reserved for our members and friends\, so we can experience this concert together. \nThese tickets are offered for sale first to our Arts from Japan Founding Donors\, then to our Leadership Circle\, and then to our broader membership as availability allows. Once our allotment is purchased\, we’re happy to connect our members directly to our partner’s box office\, where a member discount rate may be available.

SUMMARY:Hiromi with Stanley Clarke and the PUBLIQuartet
DESCRIPTION:Hiromi and Stanley Clarke celebrate the music of Chick Corea and Beyond \nFour-time Grammy Award–winner Stanley Clarke is a living legend jazz bass virtuoso. In 1972\, he founded the groundbreaking jazz-rock fusion band Return to Forever alongside Chick Corea. Now collaborating with the innovative pianist Hiromi—who also performed and recorded with Corea—and joined by the PUBLIQuartet\, they pay tribute to the late great keyboardist with a program of Corea’s works and original compositions he inspired. \n“Chick was like a brother to me\,” Clarke says. “What really created the bond between us was our similar beliefs in the power of the individual to create the most beautiful and inspiring art—the great healer—for people.” \nThis is a co-promotional event in our inaugural Arts from Japan Season\, presented by our partner\, Stanford Live.
