Confident Travel Conversing for Beginners: にほんご for Travel!

January 16, 2024 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Planning a trip to Japan but worried about communication? Have you taken beginner Japanese language courses but still not comfortable speaking Japanese? You may be worried about making mistakes that you hesitate to use the acquired language skills. Let’s prepare for you to travel around Japan confidently.

We are now accepting students for a 12-week workshop on beginner conversations. Under the steady guidance of Sakamoto-sensei, 6 students will have the opportunity to flex their Japanese capabilities over Zoom for 1.5 hours at a time. In this intimate group setting, Sakamoto-sensei will be able to gauge the needs of each student and adjust subject matter to these needs. This is a great way to grow comfortable using Japanese in unscripted and genuine conversations and prepare you for your next adventure to Japan!

Examples of topics that will be covered:

  • Self-Introduction/Greetings
  • Asking for Directions
  • Ordering food
  • Shopping
  • Aspects of Daily Life
  • And More!

*This workshop is meant for those who already have a foundation in Japanese, preferably having participated in JSNC’s Beginning 1-4. Please click on the link here to assess your level before registering for the workshop!

*Workshops with low enrollment may be canceled.
