Come join us for an exclusive demo with Candice Kumai, a renowned Japanese-American chef, six-time best-selling author, and featured guest star on Selena Gomez’s new hit HBOMax series Selena + Chef. During her live presentation, Candice will demonstrate how to prepare mouthwatering and authentic Japanese dishes that you will love to devour. She will also be sharing some great tips on how to incorporate delicious Suntory whisky into your own recipes, for maximum flavor and style.

Candice Kumai     

Candice Kumai
Named “The Golden Girl of Wellness” by both ELLE and Forbes, Candice sits on The Well+Good Council and was recently chosen as one of Arianna Huffington’s “Top 20 New Role Models.” She is a classically trained chef, former TV host, and former-model-turned journalist. A six-time best-selling author, her latest book, Kintsugi Wellness, combines her wellness wisdom and traditional Japanese heritage with a culinary prowess.

Shigeharu Tamaya

Shigeharu “Tommy” Tamaya | Luxury Portfolio Manager, Northern California, Beamsuntory
As the Luxury Portfolio Manager of Beamsuntory Northern California, Tommy Tamaya is responsible for establishing the Highball strategy and lead the team to build up Highball culture in Northern California. Also he conducts and supports Japanese whisky seminar and event for the trades and consumers. Originally, he joined Suntory in 2007 and worked in the Beer and RTD* section of the National Chain Division, where he focused on sales to many major supermarkets in Japan. After going through a training program in India, he became responsible for the export of whisky and liquor products to countries such as India, Brazil, and Mexico. He then moved to the International Strategy Department, where he was involved in the M&A of Jim Beam.

Namiko Kajiwara

Namiko Kajiwara | Partner, World Innovation Lab
Namiko is Partner, Corporate Innovation at World Innovation Lab. She is an innovator and advisor in food. Her first smash hit was Kirin Free in 2009, the worlds’ first 0.00% non-alcoholic beer. After acquiring an MBA at Stanford in 2015, she joined World Innovation Lab. She works with Japanese companies and local talents to launch food innovation projects, such as Stonemill Matcha and Air Restaurant. Stonemill Matcha is a California-style matcha cafe in San Francisco. Air Restaurant was bringing Japanese top chefs to the Bay Area, creating special pop-up dinners with local top chefs. She is also a speaker, mentor, and lecturer at conferences and schools, including Stanford, FoodInno, Nikkei Ag/Sum, and more.
