Ray Fujii

Ray Fujii is a seasoned corporate strategy and M&A leader with more than 25 years of experience advising global companies and financial sponsors on complex, often cross-border strategic issues. He has a distinguished track record in consulting and financial advisory services, guiding executive teams and boards through strategy development, transformative transactions, and large-scale performance improvement across the pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, diagnostics, consumer products, and financial sectors.

Ray formerly served as a Managing Director at L.E.K. Consulting, based in San Francisco and the broader Bay Area, where he led high-impact engagements on corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organizational effectiveness, and operational optimization. He also led the firm’s Japan practice for over a decade, building and managing cross-functional consulting teams and supporting clients on Japan–global growth, portfolio strategy, and cross-border transactions.

Before his leadership roles in strategy consulting, he worked as a financial advisor at Lazard Frères and Lehman Brothers, advising on strategic and financial transactions for corporate and sponsor clients. He began his career as a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently joined Johnson & Johnson as a manager in its strategy group, further deepening his expertise at the intersection of corporate strategy and execution.

Ray holds a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Business Administration from the Olin Business School at Washington University, an academic foundation that supports his work in both scientifically intensive and financially complex sectors. A native of Japan, he is fluent in English and Japanese, enabling him to bridge cultural and business contexts and to lead cross-border initiatives effectively.
