The Unimaginable World of Japanese Knives

January 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Explore the World of Japanese Knives

*In-person only*

The popularity of Japanese knives is booming in the U.S. Join us at Bernal Cutlery in San Francisco on January 18th for a deep-dive into Japanese knives, followed by an exclusive cutting and sharpening demonstration! Whether you are a professional chef, an aspiring cook, or someone who’s never held a knife in their life, this event is open to all.

Come learn about the history of Japanese knives, special sharpening techniques, the many different types of knives (used to cut everything from sashimi to cauliflower), and the key differences between Japanese and Western knives. You’ll be a knife expert by the end of the day!

Once you’re a pro and cutting and sharpening, learn all about donabe (Japanese clay cooking pot) and the wide range of meals that you can use it for.

You don’t need to own a donabe or skills to participate in any of these classes. Just please bring your appetite for Japanese cuisine!

*Light food and drinks will be provided.

Our Amazing Speakers:

Our amazing speaker is Josh Donald (center), knife guru and Co-Founder of Bernal Cutlery.

They offer knife sharpening with Japanese whetstones, Japanese and Western culinary knives, vintage knives, outdoor, pocket and craft knives, and knife skills and sharpening classes.
