アメリカ人と効果的に働く方法 Working Effectively with Americans

アメリカにきて仕事をし始めてあっという間に10年以上経過しようとしていますが、アメリカ人と働くにあたり日本人と働くときの違いを事前に知っていてよかった！と思った瞬間が何度もあります。スポンサーでもあり、長年北カリフォルニア・ジャパンソサエティ のボードメンバーを務めるロッシェル・カップがマネージングディレクタを務める、Japan Intercultural Consulting のワークショップで基本的なことを学んだことがあります。 特に三ヶ月ごとに変わるインターンの学生さんたちは若い世代でジェネレーションギャップもある上、日本人と働いたこともありません。ソサエティのインターンで初めて仕事を経験する方々も多いので、「日本式の働き方、コミュニケーション・スタイル、言わなくてもわかるよね。」と期待する方が無理難題というものです。特にコミュニケーションのスタイルで大きく違うと思うのが、コンスタントにポジティブなフィードバックをチームに伝えること。「日本人にはそれが少ない。」と指摘されることが多いことはみなさんもお聞きになったことがあるかもしれません。ネガティブ・フィードバックは、相手の問題点を上手に指摘し、改善を促していくためのマネジメント方法ですが、アメリカでは特に気をつけなければいけないポイントがいくつもあります。ヘタすると訴訟につながることもあり得ます。わたしもまだまだですけれども、ワークショップを通じて、アメリカ人の同僚に聞く姿勢をもってもらうことを学んだ気がします。 2020年11月11日 (米国）にオンラインにてワークショップが開催されます。アメリカ人と効果的に働く方法 を学んでみませんか? お申し込みはこちら
