Japan Society of Northern California awards Eight Public Schools in the Bay Area with “Japan in Schools” Grant
On Thursday, January 16, the Japan Society of Northern California (JSNC) will be awarding a total of $7,500 to the following public schools in support of their Japanese Language and Cultural programs: Presidio Middle School, Washington High School, Lincoln High School, Lowell High School, Mills High School, Clarendon Elementary School, Rosa Parks Elementary School, and El Cerrito High School.
By providing financial and Japanese cultural resources to the dedicated programs who are in need of additional assistance especially during these economically challenging times for foreign language education in the public schools, Japan Society, through their ‘Japan in Schools’ program, hopes to play a role in deepening the educational experience for Japanese language students and help ensure the sustainability of Japanese Language and Cultural Programs in the public schools into the future.
The Japan Society would like to invite the general public to join us in showing our appreciation for their dedicated work in support of the Japanese language and cultural education in the public schools. Details are as follows:
Registration: 5:30 PM
Time: 6-7 PM program & ceremony / 7-7:30 PM network reception
Cost: FREE
