The Japan Society of Northern California will be hosting a VIP Dinner with Mr. Alan Turley.

Mr. Alan Turley is the Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo (the lead commercial person in the U.S. Embassy). Alan has a very interesting personal background – he worked a stint in the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo in the same role back in the early 2000s. He then left government service and went to work for FedEx as the VP for International Affairs, Asia-Pacific before returning to government service in 2016 as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for China and Mongolia. Alan returned to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo in 2021 where he has worked closely with Ambassador Emanuel to help facilitate business connections between the U.S. and Japan.
