VIP Lunch with Yasushi Maruyama, Egon Zehnder

We are very excited to announce our next Leadership Circle/VIP lunch with the former head of Egon Zehnder in Japan, Yasushi Maruyama on July 12th at Japan Innovation Campus in Palo Alto. Based in Tokyo, Yasushi Maruyama specializes in a full range of services, including executive and board search, leadership consulting, management appraisal, and helping executives improve their leadership capabilities, while leveraging cutting-edge psychological methods. Yasushi was the former Office Leader of  Egon Zehnder’s Tokyo office. He was a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee between 2019 and 2022.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Yasushi was an Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Co., supporting multinational companies across Japan, Europe, Africa, and Australia in dealing with top-level management issues such as corporate turnaround, cross-border M&A, and organizational transformation. Yasushi earned BS and MS degrees in Computer Science at University of Tokyo, and an MBA with distinction from INSEAD in Singapore. Yasushi periodically provides career education seminars and lectures for university, high school, and junior high school students in Japan.

We will also be joined by current Japan Society of Northern California Board Member, Hiroaki Kuwajima. Hiroaki Kuwajima is Haas Executive Fellow at Haas School of Business and Visiting Scholar at Center for Japanese Studies, University of California, Berkeley. Hiroaki currently serves as Senior Director of JTEKT North America Corporation, and has extensive consulting experiences in automotive, consumer goods, and retail industry. As a native of Japan, Hiroaki is a leading expert on Japanese political economy, corporate strategy and innovation, and broad US-Japan relations.

This VIP lunch will take place at the Japan Innovation Campus in Palo Alto – this is a great opportunity to see the facility that opened this year as a means of encouraging Japanese startups to get a taste of Silicon Valley. We will be serving delicious Japanese lunches prepared specially by Hiroshi (https://www.hiroshi328.com/)- one of the best Japanese restaurants in the Bay Area, and containing a mix of chirashi zushi and seared wagyu beef bowl as well as other delicious items.
