Past Event Details: Confident Travel Conversing – にほんご for Travel!

Planning a trip to Japan but worried about communication? Have you taken Japanese language courses but are still not comfortable speaking Japanese? You may be worried about making mistakes and hesitate to use the acquired language skills. Let’s prepare for you to travel around Japan confidently.

We are now accepting students for a 6-week workshop on Pre-Intermediate conversations. Under the steady guidance of Sakamoto-sensei, 6 students will have the opportunity to flex their Japanese capabilities over Zoom for 1.5 hours at a time. In this intimate group setting, Sakamoto-sensei will be able to gauge the needs of each student and adjust subject matter to these needs. This is a great way to grow comfortable using Japanese in unscripted and genuine conversations and prepare yourself for your next adventure in Japan!

Examples of topics that will be covered.

  • Self-Introduction/Greetings
  • Asking for Directions
  • Ordering food
  • Understanding announcements at stations
  • Sharing your trip plans in Japan

*This workshop is meant for those who already have a foundation in Japanese, preferably having completed the JSNC’s Pre-Intermediate1-3 OR passed JLPT level N4.

*Workshops with low enrollment may be canceled.

Date: Starting on September 3 at 18:30-20:00 (Pacific Time) Tuesdays 6 sessions!

Fee: $210 (Membership is required for this booking.  Join and support the Japan Society! Membership can also be applied to sign up for group lessons and workshop in the future!)

Class format: Zoom. We want to see your happy faces, so we will ask all students to turn their videos on.
