Excited for the fall semester to start, but don’t want to take a break from learning Japanese? Our new mini-workshop is a perfect way for you to keep up your conversational skills before the next term! “Exploring Trends in Japan through KAIWA” seeks to enhance your proficiency in Japanese through engaging in discussions, expanding your vocabulary, and sharpening your listening comprehension by exploring trends in Japan. Join fellow students in beginner-friendly conversations to exchange opinions, make new friends, and refine your speaking skills.

*This workshop if meant for those who already have a foundation in Japanese, preferably having participated in JSNC’s Beginning 1-4.
*Workshops with low enrollment may be canceled.


Date: Starting on Friday, August 16th @ 6:30-8:30 PM (Pacific Time) — 3 sessions!

Fee: $175 (Membership is required for this booking. Join and support the Japan Society! Membership can also be applied to sign up for group lessons and workshops in the future!)

Class Format: Online via Zoom. We want to see your happy faces, so we ask all students to turn their videos on.

Our Amazing Teacher

MS. CHIAKI VANASUPA 

Vanasupa-sensei has been teaching Japanese for over 7 years and holds a California Teaching Credential. After living in different countries and working as an interpreter and translation for many years, she realized that teaching Japanese language and culture is what she would like to pursue as a life time career. Her focus is on business Japanese conversation and cultural differences in business while utilizing her work experiences in Japan. She received her BA (Hons) in Sociology, MA in International Studies with Research Training from University of Reading, UK, and MA in Translation and Localization Management from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
